21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,     but the righteous give generously; 22 those the Lord blesses will inherit the land,     but those he curses will be destroyed. Psalm 37 GOD IS FOR YOU AND FOR US, NEVER DOUBT THAT

21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,
    BUT THE RIGHTEOUS GIVE GENEROUSLY;
22 THOSE THE LORD BLESSES WILL INHERIT THE LAND,
    but those he curses will be destroyed. Psalm 37

GOD IS FOR YOU AND FOR US, NEVER DOUBT THAT.

Some further verses in Psalm 37 to ponder and draw encouragement from.

David repeats things in the verses of this psalm, it’s as if the Lord is underlining what’s being said here.

GENEROSITY IS A MARK OF THE RIGHTEOUS, but the wicked don’t repay their lender.

25 I was young and now I am old,
    yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
    or their children begging bread.
26 THEY ARE ALWAYS GENEROUS AND LEND FREELY;
    THEIR CHILDREN WILL BE BLESSED.

The GENEROSITY of the righteous will be a blessing through the generations, good will come to their children because of it.

28 For the Lord loves the just
    and will not forsake his faithful ones.

29 THE RIGHTEOUS WILL INHERIT THE LAND
    AND DWELL IN IT FOR EVER.

Once again the Lord repeats this word within a few short verses and once again it’s freely given to successive generations. The wicked may claim ‘the land’ by corrupt means, but they can lose it again just as quickly. God gave Abraham’s descendants the whole land of Canaan after many years in slavery.

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
    of the one who delights in him;
24 THOUGH HE MAY STUMBLE, HE WILL NOT FALL,
    FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIM WITH HIS HAND.

A long time ago a good friend who saw things in the spirit told me that he saw my right hand being held in a larger hand. Thank You Lord, I need it.

30 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
    and their tongues speak what is just.
31 The law of their God is in their hearts;
    THEIR FEET DO NOT SLIP. Psalm 37

GOD REASSURES US OVER AND OVER OF HIS LOVING CARE FOR US IN THIS PSALM OF DAVID.

More than conquerors

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8

Paul repeats it again in his letter to the Church in Rome. God is for us!

May the Lord bless and keep you today. Immanuel, God is with us.
