26 And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in Favour with the Lord and with people. 1 Samuel 2

26 And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in Favour with the Lord and with people. 1 Samuel 2

Similar words are used in Luke’s Gospel about the Lord growing up with His earthly parents.

51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and WAS OBEDIENT TO THEM. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2

Jesus went down to Nazareth and was Obedient to His parents and immediately the Bible talks about Him growing physically and in Favour.

18 But Samuel was ministering before the Lord – a boy wearing a linen ephod. 1 Samuel 2

Both Jesus and Samuel CONTINUED TO GROW IN FAVOUR  as they fulfilled their respective roles in life. Both were faithful to those in charge of them.

“Far be it from me! THOSE WHO HONOUR ME I WILL HONOUR, but those who despise me will be disdained. 1 Samuel 2:30

In the award winning movie, ‘Chariots of Fire’, there’s a dramatic moment just before the Final of the men’s 400 metres. Eric Liddell, the British athlete was handed a piece of paper with this verse written on it and wishing him, ‘best success always’. The central theme of the movie was that Liddell, a devout Christian, refused to run on the Sabbath and changed his event from the 100 to the 400 metres. He ran a world record time for the distance, God did honour the runner who honoured Him. Liddell returned as a missionary to China, the land of his birth! He died in a Japanese Prison Camp in China and as the movie ends, ‘All Scotland mourned’.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them round your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will WIN FAVOUR and a good name
    IN THE SIGHT OF GOD AND MAN. Proverbs 3

The Wisdom writing in Proverbs also talks about Favour with God and people. We should look for them to come together in our own lives.

11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not resent his rebuke, (DON’T SULK UNDER HIS LOVING CORRECTION, Message Bible)
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
    as a father the son he delights in. Proverbs 3

This chapter also teaches that God disciplines all of His children for our good, as should earthly parents. Jesus and Samuel both submitted to earthly discipline and both walked closely with the Lord.

This life on earth is a Journey, with a beginning and an end, where lots will happen in between. We should ‘walk out our salvation with fear and trembling (honouring the God who gave us life)’ Philippians 2:12

May we continue to grow in the Favour of God and people and be blessed this day and every day.

Hannah sought the Favour of God and of His Priest, Eli. 1 Samuel 1

Hannah sought the Favour of God and of His Priest, Eli. 1 Samuel 1

The account of Samuel begins with a woman in distress. Hannah had no children, because the Lord had closed her womb 1 Samuel 1:5 and her rival provoked her mercilessly.

YEAR AFTER YEAR this man went up from his town to worship and sacrifice to the Lord Almighty at Shiloh, 1 Samuel 1

This family were faithful worshippers of the Lord and every time they went to Shiloh to worship, Hannah was ‘provoked till she wept and would not eat’. The annual visit to the Lord’s Tabernacle became the place where Hannah turned to God in desperation to resolve the sorrow in her life.

Once when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his chair by the doorpost of the Lord’s house. 10 In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. 11 And SHE MADE A VOW, SAYING, ‘Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, THEN I WILL GIVE HIM TO THE LORD FOR ALL THE DAYS OF HIS LIFE, and no razor will ever be used on his head.’

Hannah vowed that if God would give her a son, she would give him to the Lord for his whole life. This was always God’s intention, to have a faithful man to lead His people.

35 I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed one always. 1 Samuel 2:35

Ironically, because of the fervency of her prayer, Eli thought she’d been drinking and scolded her.

15 ‘Not so, my lord,’ Hannah replied, ‘I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.’

Eli corrected his wrong opinion and BLESSED HANNAH, one of two blessings he gave. (1 Samuel 2:21) Blessings are always worth receiving, especially from those in authority.

17 Eli answered, ‘Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.’

18 She said, ‘May your servant FIND FAVOUR in your eyes.’ Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast. (Something had changed for Hannah, the sorrow had lifted.)

God arranged a transition here, Eli’s family were about to reap a harvest for their wicked deeds and Samuel, the next Priest was soon to step unto the scene in Shiloh.

Hannah suffered for a time under God’s hand, but eventually she was blessed with a family of her own and her name is recorded for all time in God’s Word. We may experience difficulties in this life, but God can and does redeem the days to His faithful ones, Hallelujah.

24 “‘“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

27 “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6

Favour is used three times in Ruth 2:2, 10, 13. Ruth, Looking for/expecting Favour, finding Favour, increasing and growing in Favour.

Favour is used three times in Ruth 2:2, 10, 13. Ruth, Looking for/expecting Favour, finding Favour, increasing and growing in Favour.

Ruth is the story of a courageous and loyal woman finding Favour with the magnanimous God of Israel, the God who loves to bless and whom we can never out give.

Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, a man of standing from the clan of Elimelek, whose name was Boaz.

And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, ‘Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I FIND FAVOUR.’

Ruth went out as a stranger in Bethlehem, not knowing where she was going, but hoping to Find Favour with someone who would allow her to pick the leftovers from the harvest. I believe our heart attitudes are tremendously important.

19 If you are willing and obedient,
    you will eat the good things of the land; Isaiah 1

Ruth went out as a foreigner, looking for someone to give her permission to glean and as she went she found Favour. (Of course I believe God was with her)

Boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters, ‘Who does that young woman belong to?’

Boaz noticed Ruth, God highlighted Ruth even during the busy harvest time. But she had to step out in Faith first.

So Boaz said to Ruth, ‘My daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me. Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the women. I have told the men not to lay a hand on you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.’

10 At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She asked him, ‘Why have I FOUND SUCH FAVOUR in your eyes that you notice me – a foreigner?’

Ruth found protection and Favour in exactly the right part of the harvest field! IF WE’RE IN GOD’S PLAN FOR US WE SHOULD EXPECT HIS FAVOUR AND GRACE FOR THE WORK.

13 ‘MAY I CONTINUE TO FIND FAVOUR in your eyes, my lord,’ she said. ‘You have put me at ease by speaking kindly (Kindness, the middle fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5) to your servant – though I do not have the standing of one of your servants.’

Ruth, the poor stranger, with no standing in the land of Israel, humbled herself before Boaz. She asked for Continued Favour, not just a one time blessing and she received it in a powerful measure. Ruth became the wife of the Lord of this harvest and bore him a son who was Obed, the grandfather of King David.

Ruth the stranger, looked for Favour, found Favour and received increased/growing Favour. God wants to bless His children and we’re coming into a time of great favour in the days ahead. We need to be ready and expectant for them.

24 “‘“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

27 “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6

15 She replied, ‘Do me a special FAVOUR. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water.’ So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs. Judges 1

15 She replied, ‘Do me a special FAVOUR. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water.’ So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs. Judges 1

FAVOUR WAS ASKED FOR AND GIVEN, by an earthly father to his married daughter. Caleb had given his daughter Acsah to Othniel after he took Kiriath Sepher in battle. They had already received land in the Negev, a very dry area, from Caleb, but now Acsah asked her father for the springs of water, the source of life. I have a sense that Caleb, the mighty warrior from a previous generation, was behaving as a ‘Type’ of Our Father in Heaven on this occasion. He asked Acsah, ‘What can I do for You?’ He blessed her with the ‘Upper and Lower Springs’.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives;

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7

The word Favour is used three times in the Book of Judges and on each occasion a question is asked and there is a connection with life and restoration.

17 Gideon replied, ‘If now I have found Favour in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me. 18 Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you.’ Judges 6

Gideon had a visit from the Angel of the Lord to announce that God was going to destroy the Midianites who were cruelly oppressing His people. Sooner or later God always  pays back those who ill treat His people. Gideon was hiding some wheat in a wine press when the encounter came. He asked the Lord to wait while he prepared a sacrifice, which He did. Gideon’s request was granted and God began to use him as His chosen Deliverer against Midianite hoards.

15 The people grieved for Benjamin, because the Lord had made a gap in the tribes of Israel. Judges 21

Only a small number of Benjamite men had survived a battle with all Israel and they’d sworn not to give their daughters as wives to them, so the tribe would have died out. They devised a plan to have the Benjamites who were left, seize a wife from the girls of Shiloh at the festival.

22 When their fathers or brothers complain to us, we will say to them, “Do us the Favour of helping them, because we did not get wives for them during the war. You will not be guilty of breaking your oath because you did not give your daughters to them.” Judges 21

Thus they restored life to the tribe of Benjamin and it wasn’t wiped out.

It says that Jesus grew ‘in Favour with God and man’, both are important. But in Judges people ASK for Favour, maybe a prompt for some of us to be bolder.

46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. John 1

Don’t close doors, we don’t know how or through whom God will bless us. Ecclesiastes 11:6

46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.

“Come and see,” said Philip. John 1

Nathanael said those words before he met Jesus and became his disciple. When I read this verse in the first chapter of John’s Gospel, the word ‘Prejudice’ came to my mind. Nathanael had a major Prejudice against the place and people where Jesus grew up.

Prejudice implies; bias, preconceived opinions or judgements (before even meeting someone), hostility, unjust behaviour. It also has legal connotations; harm or injury that may result from some action or judgement.

We all have Prejudices because of the life we’ve lived and the places where we’ve grown up. Many times we may be unaware of the areas in our lives where these things exist! There are things we don’t think about and to which we just react. It’s like a default setting which occurs automatically in our lives when we encounter certain issues or people.

Northern Ireland, where we live, had a worldwide reputation for Prejudice, thanks to the media and during the height of the Troubles (sectarian strife). Satan works hard to keep people divided and sets up all kinds of barriers and battles to keep it that way. The Gospel is the answer to such division, but in times of social unrest people often choose anger and revenge over peace.

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, male nor female, FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS. Galatians 3

There’s no record that Philip tried to persuade Nathanael that Jesus was the Christ, he just said, “COME AND SEE (for yourself)”. A lot of Prejudice is based on here say and lies.

47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.”

48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. John 1

Jesus spoke to Nathanael by the Spirit with a word of Knowledge, perhaps that’s what He had to do to overcome his Prejudice.

Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” John 1

Nathanael had a revelation of who Jesus really was and used two of His Names/titles in this chapter. When he met Jesus and his life was changed forever, but his reaction on hearing Jesus was from Nazareth might have blocked it all. We need to be recognise things in our hearts that would block His destiny for our lives. Nathanael met Jesus in person; God’s Spirit speaks to us now in our hearts.

God bless and keep you today.

28 So Israel will live in safety; Jacob’s SPRING IS SECURE. Deuteronomy 33

29 BLESSED are you, O Israel! Deuteronomy 33

There were two men in the Bible who Blessed the whole family/nation of Israel, Jacob in Genesis 49 and Moses in Deuteronomy 33. On both occasions the Bible records the lengthy words of Blessing to ALL THE FAMILY/PEOPLE, none were left out and the next recorded events are their deaths. GOD DIRECTED THE FATHERS TO BLESS HIS PEOPLE, SO IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR ISRAEL TO HAVE THESE WORDS SPOKEN OVER THEIR LIVES, TWICE! God REPEATED THE BLESSINGS to two different generations.

This world system seeks to falsely represent God as Harsh and Judgemental, but the truth is that God is a God of Blessing. The devil is the one who continually works through cursing the people God has created in His image.

    16 with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness
and THE FAVOUR OF HIM
who dwelt in the burning bush.
Let all these rest on the head of Joseph,
on the brow of the prince among his brothers. Deuteronomy 33

Joseph, who was Israel’s Deliverer, received a beautiful blessing for all he’d done for his brothers, once again one of the family.

23 About Naphtali he said:

‘Naphtali is abounding with the FAVOUR OF THE LORD
    AND IS FULL OF HIS BLESSING;
    he will inherit southward to the lake.’

Naphtali also received the Favour of God and his inheritance was proclaimed for him. (Ephesians 2:10 speaks of the good works prepared IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO – our inheritance)

24 About Asher he said:

‘Most blessed of sons is Asher;
    LET HIM BE FAVOURED BY HIS BROTHERS,
    and let him bathe his feet in oil.
25 The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze,
    and your strength will equal your days.

These blessings are all so positive; powerful words of destiny spoken over the individual and yet corporate sons and tribes of Israel.

Jacob was the natural father of the family and Moses was the spiritual father of the nation, both had the standing to speak blessings over the people. We too, can and should seek the blessing of such people in our own lives, if they are willing to give it to us.

28 So Israel will live in safety;
    Jacob’s SPRING IS SECURE (Our supply is Secure, especially in a time of drought!)
in a land of grain and new wine,
    where the heavens drop dew.

Before mains water became available, many farms depended on spring or well water to supply their animals. It was especially important that the spring kept flowing in dry periods, when it was most needed. IT WAS DRY TIMES THAT REALLY PROVED THE QUALITY OF THE SUPPLY. God promised Israel that their spring was secure, He’d never fail them nor us, His children. Hallelujah

God bless and keep you today.

Be encouraged, God doesn’t give up on us even when we feel like quitting! Numbers 11

Be encouraged, God doesn’t give up on us even when we feel like quitting!

15 If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me—if I have FOUND FAVOUR in your eyes—and do not let me face my own ruin.” Numbers 11

Circumstances had become so difficult for Moses as leader of God’s people that he wanted God to end his life, he’d had enough of being responsible for them. How many leaders have felt the same way since Moses?

God’s solution for Moses was to give him help from within the camp where he lived, SHARE THE BURDEN. God said to Moses to bring down seventy of the elders with him to the Tent of Meeting and He would put His Spirit on them to help Moses. Two of the elders didn’t go down with Moses, but they were still baptised in the camp (God is no respecter of persons). Numbers 11:17, 26

Two other Bible characters whose situations drove them to make the same plea to God were Job and Elijah.

“Oh, that I might have my request,
    that God would grant what I hope for,
that God would be willing to crush me,
    to let loose his hand and cut off my life!
10 Then I would still have this consolation—
    my joy in unrelenting pain—
    that I had not denied the words of the Holy One. Job 6

Job was attacked directly by Satan but he never denied God, nor said anything bad about Him. God revealed Himself to Job and blessed him with twice as much as he’d had at first.

Elijah was fleeing from Jezebel after he’d killed all the false prophets and turned the nation of Israel back to their God.

“I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. 1 Kings 19

God gave the prophet REST and sent an angel to FEED him. (Sometimes we need to rest and gather our strength before we’re able to go forward again.) Then he recommissioned Elijah to his role as national prophet. Go back the way you came,  GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK. Go and appoint Hazael king over Aram, Jehu King over Israel and Elisha to succeed you as prophet. 1 Kings 19:15, 16

The great apostle Paul tells us that there was also a time, ‘when he despaired of life itself’.

We do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that WE MIGHT NOT RELY ON OURSELVES BUT ON GOD, WHO RAISES THE DEAD.

Paul and his companions trusted in God; they had no other choice. We may live in difficult times but God is Faithful.

God bless and keep you today.

9 ‘“I will look on you with Favour and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. Leviticus 26

‘“I will look on you with Favour and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. Leviticus 26

The first part of Leviticus 26 gives a beautiful picture of God’s Favour to His people, Israel. There’s one condition – Obedience.

26 ‘“Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.

The enemy seeks to cover the land with his stones and obelisks.

‘“Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

God needs to be honoured in the land where we live.

‘“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and YOU WILL EAT ALL YOU WANT AND LIVE IN SAFETY IN YOUR LAND.

God promised abundance to His people and we have a better Covenant through our Lord.

‘“I WILL GRANT PEACE IN THE LAND, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.

God’s promise of Peace for HIS PEOPLE IN THEIR LAND.

You can read the remaining verses in the opening of the chapter, great Promises of God wanting to bless His people.

18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
    says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
    they shall be like wool.
19 If you are Willing and Obedient,
    you will eat the good (or best) things of the land. Isaiah 1

‘Willing’ means to accept or agree to without objection. ‘Obedience’ carries the meaning ‘to hear intelligently’.

At one time the late Kenneth Hagin was struggling for income from their ministry and he was talking to the Lord about it. He’d told the Lord he was being obedient and serving Him as best he knew how. The Lord quoted this scripture to him and told Him that he WASN’T WILLING FOR THE LORD TO BLESS HIM. He changed his attitude immediately and blessings soon came. I’ve had a similar situation recently in Father’s Love Ministry, but thankfully things have opened up again.

God bless and keep you and show you much Favour today.

God’s Favour WILL BRING INCREASE in His Time.

God’s Favour WILL BRING INCREASE in His Time.

21 ‘And I WILL MAKE the Egyptians FAVOURABLY disposed towards this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. 22 Every woman is to ask her neighbour and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.’ Exodus 3

NB THE WOMEN WERE TO BE HELP TAKE THE PLUNDER!

Tell the people that men and women alike ARE TO ASK their neighbours for articles of silver and gold.’ Exodus 11

36 The Lord HAD MADE the Egyptians favourably disposed towards the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians. Exodus 12

These verses show three different tenses, ‘I will make, the people are to ask, God had made the Egyptians’. Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland Mission used to say when seeking God for something, ‘First it was impossible, then it was difficult, then it was done!’ God told Moses to plunder the Egyptians (World system). His people had been enslaved there for generations and it was payback time. Many times we have heard of a great ‘Wealth Transfer’ today, to and for the people of God. May it come soon, before Christ returns.

God’s Favour cannot be at the expense of His Justice.

‘DO NOT FOLLOW THE CROWD IN DOING WRONG. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, and do not show favouritism to a poor person in a lawsuit. Exodus 23

‘Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.

We are living in a day when God is exposing corruption in the Church and governmental organisations as never before and there’s more to come. The Scales of Justice however, should never be tipped according to status, but only by the Truth in any situation.

Having seen this in Exodus, we come to GOD’S MERCY, which is very great towards those He loves.

11 But Moses sought the favour of the Lord his God. ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Exodus 32

Israel had sinned greatly with the golden calf idol and God was on the verge of destroying them, but Moses SOUGHT THE FAVOUR OF THE LORD ON THEIR BEHALF.

12 Moses said to the Lord, ‘You have been telling me, “Lead these people,” … 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me YOUR WAYS so I may know you and continue to find favour with you. (A GOOD PRAYER, Knowing God’s Ways are more than just obeying His Commands) Remember that this nation is your people.’

Remember that this nation is your people. Exodus 33

Moses, a man under God’s Favour prevailed with God and Israel received Mercy not judgement.

The end of a beautiful passage in Job highlights this Truth;

29 When people are brought low and you say, “Lift them up!”
    then he will save the downcast.
30 He will deliver even one who is not innocent,
    who will be delivered through THE CLEANNESS OF YOUR HANDS.’ Job 22

27 But Laban said to him, ‘If I have found favour in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination THAT THE LORD HAS BLESSED ME BECAUSE OF YOU.’ 28 He added, ‘Name your wages, and I will pay them.’ Genesis 30

God’s Favour will OVERFLOW to others if it’s not blocked.

27 But Laban said to him, ‘If I have found favour in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination THAT THE LORD HAS BLESSED ME BECAUSE OF YOU.’ 28 He added, ‘Name your wages, and I will pay them.’

29 Jacob said to him, ‘You know how I have worked for you and how your livestock has fared under my care. 30 THE LITTLE YOU HAD BEFORE I CAME HAS INCREASED GREATLY, AND THE LORD HAS BLESSED YOU WHEREVER I HAVE BEEN. But now, when may I do something for my own household?’ Genesis 30

Jacob was only the hired servant, but both he and Laban realised that the reason for the ‘Great Increase’ was because God’s Favour was upon Jacob. (The Book of Acts repeatedly mentions the Increase in the Church because God was with them. FAVOUR BRINGS INCREASE! Hallelujah)

Jacob and Laban eventually parted and not on the best of terms. But it’s interesting to read how God was present throughout that process;

29 I have the power to harm you; but last night the God of your father said to me, “Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.” 30 Now you have gone off because you longed to return to your father’s household. Genesis 31

Laban probably set out after Jacob in anger, so God warned him before they met for the last time not to say anything ‘good or bad’ to Jacob. DON’T TOUCH THE LORD’S ANOINTED! 1 Chronicles 16:21, 22 and Ps 105:15

Jacob was central to God’s purpose for humanity and so God warned Laban DON’T SPEAK AGAINST HIM. There are times when  God will not permit anyone to interfere with His plans for a life, they’re too important to Him! That’s why we should never speak against an individual; an office e.g pastor, prophet, President, Prime Minister; nor a people e.g the Jews. God has His purpose to be accomplished through them.

Jacob left the land of Laban and the anointing left with him. Sometimes we will inherit the blessing from another’s life for a season, but eventually they may be called away. Enjoy it while you have it.

What if they’ve done something that really irks you?Jacob must have thought he’d gotten away with everything, he’d left with his wives, his sons and his flocks.

24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that HIS HIP WAS WRENCHED AS HE WRESTLED WITH THE MAN. 26 Then the man said, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ Genesis 32

But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’

Often when we’re wrestling with something it seems we’re in the darkness of night. The Lord humbled Jacob greatly before he stepped back into the land of his inheritance, a final breaking of the man’s natural strength. God’s Favour was upon his life, but God humbled him right before he was due to meet his brother Esau. He was helpless and in weakness when they met.

God is well able to discipline His servants, we shouldn’t take that role to ourselves, it’s not our responsibility. Enjoy the OVERFLOW while it’s there but don’t touch the anointing/Favour of God.

God bless and keep you today and every day.
