15 But the seed on GOOD SOIL stands for those with a noble and GOOD HEART, who hear the word, retain it, (understand it) and by persevering produce a crop. Luke 8
Jesus told the Parable of the Sower to large crowds and His disciples were with Him. (Recorded in Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20 and Luke 8:4-15) He explained that the seed is the Word of God and the Soil is the human heart.
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,
“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’ Luke 8 quoting Isaiah 6:9
Jesus spoke in parables to the crowds (mysteries), but He answered His own disciples clearly. Whenever we ask God will answer, but perhaps not immediately. Once again we see Jesus FULFILLED PROPHECY when He spoke in Parables.
There’s a Battle on over the Word of God (Seed) in every individual’s life! The devil hates the Word because it gives Life and he’s all about bringing death, the events of recent times confirm this more than ever.
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones WHO HEAR, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Luke 8
The ones along the Path Hear The Word (first necessary step) but the devil comes and takes (steals) it away from their hearts, SO THAT THEY WON’T BELIEVE AND BE SAVED. Hearing isn’t the same as Salvation! We have to GUARD OUR HEARTS Proverbs 4:23.
13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy (There should be Joy when someone turns to the Lord) when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but IN THE TIME OF TESTING THEY FALL AWAY. (Testing revealed no depth to their Faith, couldn’t endure the storms/trials) Luke 8
14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and THEY DO NOT MATURE.
THE AFFAIRS OF THIS LIFE WAR AGAINST THE SEED PLANTED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN OUR LIVES. That’s why Jesus tells every one of the seven churches in Revelation 2 & 3 that the REWARDS WILL BE FOR THOSE WHO OVERCOME. Even the lukewarm Church of Laodicea, which some believe represents the wealthy believers of today. Wealth and comfort can lull us into believing that we don’t need the Lord, a greater threat than head-on trials.
We must guard God’s Spirit in our hearts, endure the trials of this life and and not be distracted by the cares and pleasures of this life. The God of the whole Universe has chosen us and He is able to keep us. We already have His Spirit living in us and guardian angels around us to bring us home.
God bless and keep you today .
