The Love and Mercy of God. Psalm 86

Have you ever considered the language of David’s Psalms?

Two words repeated three times each in David’s prayer, Psalm 86, (Abounding in) Love and Mercy.

Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life (First Prayer), for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have MERCY on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant (Unusual Prayer for Today), Lord,
for I put my trust in you.

David was not afraid to ask God to bring joy into his life, though he also worshipped a lot and was thankful for God’s Mercy!

5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
ABOUNDING IN LOVE to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry for MERCY.
7 When I am in distress(Day of Trouble), I call to you,
because you answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made
will come and worship before you, Lord;
they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvellous deeds;
you alone are God.
11 TEACH ME YOUR WAY, O LORD,
AND I WILL WALK IN YOUR TRUTH;
GIVE ME AN UNDIVIDED HEART,
THAT I MAY FEAR YOUR NAME.

David was someone who had a special relationship with God, yet he asked the Lord to ‘teach him and give him an undivided heart’.  We need God to teach us His ways so we can walk with Him. Amos 3:3 So in the midst of crying out to God for His Love and Mercy David asks God for His teaching, so that he may ‘Walk in His Truth’.

12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name for ever.
13 For GREAT IS YOUR LOVE towards me;
you have delivered me from the depths,
from the realm of the dead.
14 The arrogant are attacking me, O God;
a band of ruthless men seeks my life –
men without regard regard for you.
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, ABOUNDING in LOVE and FAITHFULNESS.
16 Turn to me and have MERCY on me;
grant your strength to your servant;
and save the son of your maidservant(or save your faithful son).
17 Give me a sign of your goodness,
that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE HELPED ME AND COMFORTED ME.

David often finishes his Psalms on a positive note and this one has a lovely ending, God has ‘Helped and Comforted him’. God cares for His children, don’t be afraid to seek His Help and Comfort in your own life today.

God has an inheritance for many, especially unknown women, in these days.

The book of Numbers, chapter 36, ends with a further account of Zelophehad’s five daughters. God ruled that there was to be no transfer of land(inheritance) within Israel. In chapter 27, God had said the daughters were to receive their father’s land, as he had no sons to inherit it. This meant that there would never be a patchwork of land ownership within the twelve tribes, each tribe would remain within its allotted area. God overruled the norms of the society to keep the order He’d established in His people and He can do this at anytime today. We mustn’t be bound by rules or traditions!

Philip the evangelist was a notable figure in the Book of Acts (Smith Wigglesworth said it was called Acts because somebody Acted!) and he had four unmarried daughters who prophesied. Acts 21:9

Philip had a powerful ministry through the Holy Spirit;

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city. Acts 8

There’s no record of Philip having a son and once again we see that God gave an inheritance, a spiritual one in the era of the Church to these four unknown daughters. The Bible says they had the gift of prophecy and Paul tells the Church  in 1 Corinthians 14:1, 3 ‘to desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy … everyone who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort’. God gave these daughters an inheritance of their own and it was recognised by Paul and the Church.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him”. Acts 10

The Gentiles in the house of Cornelius had just been baptised in the Holy Spirit. God brought Peter and six other brothers Acts 11:12 to them by the leading of His Spirit and that was a huge shift in God’s dealings with humanity. It was no longer just the Jewish nation, but now all people everywhere could know the Lord.

Moses fled Egypt to the land of Midian, helped the seven daughters of Reuel Exodus 2:16 to water their sheep and married Zipporah. She interceded between Moses and the Lord and saved his life Exodus 4:25. Moses was rescued by the daughter of a priest of Midian and God accepted her sacrifice.

After Job’s many testings the Lord gave him a second family with seven sons and three daughters.

15 And in all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job’s daughters. (Beauty after strict refining, a lovely picture for us) And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. Job 42

Job gave his daughters an inheritance along with their brothers. I believe God has much to give His precious daughters in these days. Don’t accept the traditions of men and society, seek Him for all He has for you.

God bless and keep you in these days.

Thank God for the cleansing Blood of Jesus.

Thank God for the blood of Jesus, that cleanses people and the land from all sin.

In Numbers chapter 35, God gave Moses two commands for Israel when they entered the land of their inheritance. God was ‘making provision for’ (a term often used in construction, providing for future needs), looking ahead to the time when Israel took possession of the land. God’s Covenant Agreement was delayed, but could never be prevented!

God told Moses that 48 towns and surrounding land had to be provided for the Levites who served Him. Included in those towns, six were to be known as ‘Cities of Refuge’, Numbers 35:6, places where innocent people who’d shed blood could flee from those seeking revenge. My late mentor, Kjell Sjoberg from Sweden, asked the Lord that there would be Cities or places for the people of God to flee to in the Last Days.

God was seeking to prevent the defilement of Israel’s inheritance by the shedding of innocent blood. This was an important matter and it was noted four times in three different books of the Old Testament. Numbers 33; Deuteronomy 4 and 19 and Joshua 20 Three Cities had been nominated East of the Jordan River, where some of the Tribes would live. Deuteronomy 4:41-43

God was very specific about the need for the Cities to be centrally located and accessible.

2 then set aside for yourselves three cities in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess. 3 Build roads to them and divide into three parts the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that anyone who kills someone may flee there. Deuteronomy 19

Moses gave Israel further commands from the Lord regarding the future of their inheritance;

8 If the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as he promised on oath to your ancestors, and gives you the whole land he promised them, 9 because you carefully follow all these laws I command you today – to love the Lord your God and to walk always in obedience to him – then you are to set aside THREE MORE CITIES. 10 Do this so that innocent blood will not be shed in your land, which the Lord your God is giving you as your inheritance, and so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed. Deuteronomy 19

This was to be a lasting command for the Israelites (Numbers 35:29) and ANY ALIEN LIVING AMONG THEM. Joshua 20:9

33 ‘“Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it. 34 Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the Lord, DWELL AMONG THE ISRAELITES (His people).”’ Numbers 35

‘How Much More’ is this true for us today, when God’s own Spirit dwells in us and how grateful we should be that Jesus sacrifice covers our sin today. But we also need to remember that UNCONFESSED SIN IS NOT UNDER HIS BLOOD. I believe I shared before that God spoke to the late Lydia Prince and told her that TIME DOESN’T COVER SIN. Sin must be confessed for the Blood to cover it!

God bless and keep you today.

Heaven honours those hearts whose are faithful and serve well

Psalm 78(of Asaph), the second longest psalm, pays a wonderful tribute to David as king of Israel.

72 And David shepherded them with integrity of heart;
with skilful hands he led them. Psalm 78

Saul, first king of Israel and chosen by God Himself turned to a witch to know his end in the coming battle. Proof that God allows us free will, even after we turn away from Him. Solomon, David’s successor, was led astray and participated in idol worship. David wasn’t perfect and the Bible records that in some detail, but he faithfully worshipped God to the end of his life. His leadership was the only one that received praise, from the first three kings of a united nation before God.

David fought and won many battles against the enemies of his people. This (bloodshed) prevented him from building a Temple to the Lord in Jerusalem, but he made extensive preparations for his son Solomon to complete the work. 1 Chronicles 22-29 God also made a Covenant with him, promising him a lasting dynasty. 2 Samuel 7, 1 Chronicles 17, Psalm 132 David’s contribution, the work of his hands and the worship of his heart were recognised by heaven.

Jesus Himself made some interesting remarks about His own leadership; He was the only perfect leader!

In John 6 Jesus began to talk to his followers about the ‘Bread of Life’,

27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.’

52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’

53 Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. John 6

Jesus was talking about taking Communion, which His future followers would celebrate, but He left the Jews in ignorance of this.

John 6:66 records many of Jesus’ disciples left Him (interesting reference, three sixes ‘666’ number of the antichrist, Bible references added later, not inspired, however many will fall away during the great apostasy).

66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. John 6

In John 17, Jesus testifies that He has kept those whom He’d been given and lost none of them, (except Judas) something worth noting even as He approached crucifixion.

12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. John 17

Paul gave Timothy, his spiritual son, a good word of encouragement,

17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

Heaven will acknowledge and reward those who have served well, in whatever capacity. Stay faithful in your heart and work with your hands ‘as long as it is day’, as long as you can.

God bless and keep you safe in your calling for Him.

‘How Much More’ of Paul in the Book of Romans. Chapters 5 & 11

The final look at the words, ‘How Much More’ is found in Paul’s writing to the Romans. Romans 5:9, 10, 15, 17; 11:24 NIV

Parts of Romans can be difficult to understand, but think, ‘How Much More’, Paul endured to bring us the New Testament. Others in Britain and the Founding Fathers in America laid down their lives or were imprisoned for long periods for the sake of the Gospel message, that we take for granted today.

9 And since by his blood he did all this for us as sinners, How Much More will he do for us now that he has declared us not guilty? Now he will save us from all of God’s wrath to come. 10 And since, when we were his enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of his Son, WHAT BLESSINGS HE MUST HAVE FOR US NOW WE ARE HIS FRIENDS AND HE IS LIVING WITHIN US! Romans 5 TLB

Since God rescued us when our sinful natures were His enemies, How Much More does He want to bless and help us now.

15 And what a difference between man’s sin and God’s forgiveness!

For this one man, Adam, brought Death to many through his sin. But this one man, Jesus Christ, brought Forgiveness to many through God’s mercy. 16 Adam’s one sin brought the penalty of death to many, while Christ freely takes away many sins and gives glorious life instead. 17 The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to be king over all, but all who will take God’s gift of forgiveness and acquittal are kings of life (reign in life) because of this one man, Jesus Christ. 18 Yes, Adam’s sin brought punishment to all, but Christ’s righteousness makes men right with God, so that they can live. Romans 5 TLB

ALL who take God’s gift of Forgiveness in Christ can reign in life through Him. We are called to bring the Kingdom of God where we live today. Not by human effort but by allowing Christ to live in us by His Spirit.

Romans chapters 9, 10, 11, the heart of the Book deals with the forthcoming reinstatement of Israel as part of the Lord’s people.

23 On the other hand, if the Jews leave their unbelief behind them and come back to God, God will graft them back into the tree again. He has the power to do it.

24 For if God was willing to take you who were so far away from him—being part of a WILD OLIVE TREE—and graft you into his own good tree—a very unusual thing to do—don’t you see that he will be far more ready to put the Jews back again, who were there in the first place? Romans 11 TLB

I once heard Lance Lambert speaking in Jerusalem and jokingly saying that some of the Gentiles, whom God had grafted in, had been very wild olives indeed and so we were.

The great apostle Paul and other saints in history didn’t try to live the Christian Life as such, they allowed God, as much as possible to live through them. They submitted their lives to the Lord and allowed Him to direct/be their Lord in all things. They sacrificed and laid down their own will so that His Love might be shown to others.

God bless and keep you today.

‘How Much More’ from the Words of Jesus. Matthew 6, Luke 12

‘How Much More’ from the Words of Jesus. (Jesus was God’s sign of How Much More God loved us).

Jesus told the people how truly valuable they were in God’s eyes and that they shouldn’t worry because He cared deeply for them. 2 parallel passages Matthew 6, Luke 12

We need to STORE UP HIS WORDS in our hrearts so that when Worry comes knocking at the door, Faith is there to answer.

CONSIDER the birds; how God cares for them and He expects nothing in return.

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Therefore I tell you, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: they do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; YET GOD FEEDS THEM. AND HOW MUCH MORE VALUABLE YOU ARE THAN BIRDS! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Luke 12

CONSIDER the beautiful flowers, how God cares for them.

27 ‘Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, How Much More will he clothe you – you of little faith!

The bottom line(conclusion), Jesus wanted us to know our Heavenly Father CARES FOR US, ‘Much More’ than the birds and the flowers.

Jesus was confronted by the Religious in the synagogue, arguing about healing on the Sabbath. He challenged them about how valuable a man was in God’s eyes, compared with rescuing an animal and healed a man with a shrivelled hand.

11 He said to them, ‘If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 HOW MUCH MORE Valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.’

13 Then he said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. Matthew 12

Jesus other statement in this regard was a caution, not to be disheartened when others attacked us for being His.

24 ‘The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul (devil), How Much More the members of his household!

26 ‘So do not be afraid of them’. Matthew 10

Three incidents were ‘How Much More’ impacted King David’s life.

What did the phrase, ‘How Much More’ mean for King David’s life?

Firstly, it meant leaving Judah, their home territory and going to rescue fellow Israelites in Keilah who were being attacked by the Philistines. David asked the Lord twice, ‘Shall I go and attack the Philistines?’ because his men were afraid (How Much More if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces 1 Samuel 23:3). They won a great victory over their enemies but if we read on in the same chapter it would have become a place of defeat if Saul had trapped David there.

11 Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me to him? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Lord, God of Israel, tell your servant.’

And the Lord said, ‘He will.’

12 Again (asked God for a further confirmation that he’d heard correctly) David asked, ‘Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me and my men to Saul?’

And the Lord said, ‘They will.’

13 So David and his men, about six hundred in number, left Keilah and kept moving from place to place. 1 Samuel 23

We have to keep following/looking to the Lord, so that even our places of victory don’t become snares to us!

The second time we see the phrase, ‘How Much More’ in David’s life was when two men brought the head of Ish-Bosheth, King Saul’s last surviving son, to Hebron. 2 Samuel 4:8 Through the murder of Saul’s son, David became king over Judah for seven years and later over all Israel. There was a lot at stake but David saw it as the murder of an innocent man and wouldn’t condone it in any way. David didn’t GRASP at the kingship, but had the men put to death.

27 To this John (the Baptist) replied, ‘A man can receive only what is given them from heaven. John 3

We too, like David, have to learn the difference between Grasping and Receiving.

The third time the phrase, ‘How Much More’ was used, as David fled from Jerusalem under a judgement of God, from his own son Absalom. 2 Samuel 16 Shimei the Benjamite cursed King David and threw dirt and stones at him;

11 David then said to Abishai and all his officials, ‘My son, my own flesh and blood, is trying to kill me. How Much More, then, this Benjaminite! Leave him alone; let him curse, for the Lord has told him to. 12 It may be that the Lord will look upon my misery and restore to me his covenant blessing instead of his curse today.’

Abishai wanted to kill Shimei in a moment but David refused to let him! David had enough battles going on, he didn’t need anymore. Perhaps someone today has a ‘Shimei’ throwing stones/insults in our lives and God wants to see how you will respond. David refused to retaliate, still king, he took the lower place and suffered the abuse. ‘God may see and restore to me His Covenant blessing’. David wanted to restore God’s Favour in his life again, that’s what really matters, to be living in God’s blessing. The stones and insults may hurt but they will pass.

God bless and keep you today.

‘How Much More’, what it meant for Naaman the army commander. 2 Kings 5

‘How Much More’, what might it mean for us today?

In a recent blog we quoted the phrase ‘How Much More’;

11 ‘Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!’ Luke 11

God, who is absolutely good, will never give us anything bad when we come to Him, but He may require us to Humble ourselves and change!

What did God’s ‘How Much More’ mean for Naaman the army commander from Aram? He arrived at Elisha’s house with his attendants, bearing valuable gifts for the prophet’s healing services. Everything seemed to be fine, except Elisha didn’t think it worth while to go out and meet Naaman. Instead he sent his servant with a message;

10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, ‘Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.’ 2 Kings 5

Naaman was an important man in his own country and he was not used to dealing with someone’s servant. It touched something deep in him and he left in a rage;

11 But Naaman WENT AWAY ANGRY and said, ‘I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?’ So he turned and WENT OFF IN A RAGE. 2 Kings 5

Naaman didn’t see Elisha at their first encounter and usually we don’t see the Lord, we’re also just told what He wants us to do. Naaman may not have been aware of his anger, common in soldiers perhaps, but God gave him a challenge, HUMBLE YOURSELF and be clean. Naaman’s servants pleaded with him to do what the prophet said and when he did he was healed.

13 Naaman’s servants went to him and said, ‘My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? HOW MUCH MORE, then, when he tells you, “Wash and be cleansed”!’ 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and BECAME CLEAN LIKE THAT OF A YOUNG BOY. 2 Kings 5

Naaman went back to Elisha a different man, God had Humbled and Healed his outer and inner Flesh (his heart). Does God want to bless us today but there’s something in our hearts that He wants to touch as well? Naaman had to submit to God’s ‘How Much More’ and was greatly blessed. Allow God to work in us as He wants, our trials will in the end bring forth good fruit.

God bless and keep you today.

God longs to bless His people, may we remain faithful to Him. Numbers 24

…and they hired Balaam son of Beor …to pronounce a curse on you. 5 However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but TURNED THE CURSE INTO A BLESSING FOR YOU, BECAUSE THE LORD YOUR GOD LOVES YOU. Deuteronomy 23

God LOVED HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL (and also His Church today) and turned all their enemies curses to blessings.

Balaam couldn’t curse the Israelites, but he also had to speak blessing over them.

1 Now when Balaam saw that it PLEASED GOD TO BLESS ISRAEL, he did not resort to divination as at other times, Numbers 24

Balaam wanted his divination fee, but God wouldn’t allow it.

5 ‘How beautiful are your tents, Jacob,
your dwelling-places, Israel!
6 ‘Like valleys they spread out,
like gardens beside a river,
like aloes planted by the Lord,
like cedars beside the waters.
7 Water will flow from their buckets;
their seed (children) will have abundant water. Numbers 24

God blessed Israel and made them stronger;

8 ‘God brought them out of Egypt;
they have the strength of a wild ox.
They devour hostile nations
and break their bones in pieces;
with their arrows they pierce them.
9 Like a lion they crouch and lie down,
like a lioness – who dares to rouse them? Numbers 24

Balaam also restated the blessing God Himself had given to Abram when He called him out from his own people;

9 ‘MAY THOSE WHO BLESS YOU BE BLESSED (have you blessed Israel? God has promised to bless those who do)
and those who curse you be cursed!’ Numbers 24

Finally, it would seem that Balaam saw the coming of the Lord Himself in the distant future;

17 ‘I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near.
A star (speaks of Heaven) will come out of Jacob;
a sceptre will rise out of Israel.
He will crush the foreheads of Moab,
the skulls of all the people of Sheth. Numbers 24

God wouldn’t allow anything to harm His people and as we’ve seen, God Himself turned the curses to blessings, however, Numbers 25 shows the subtlety of the enemy. The men of Israel were seduced by the Moabite women and participated in the worship of Baal. They immediately became defiled and brought God’s judgement on their whole community. A plague struck the camp, would have been unknown today before Coronavirus, and many died. Numbers 31:15 shows that this was done on the word of Balaam the sorcerer/prophet. God’s people were seduced and God had to judge them by Old Testament standards; no intermediary.

The sin of Balaam is mentioned in two short books at the end of the New Testament, 2 Peter and Jude.

15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, WHO LOVED THE WAGES OF WICKEDNESS. 2 Peter 2:15

God wouldn’t desert His people, but the people betrayed God and suffered for their disloyalty. Our faith will be tested but never beyond our ability to endure and God will never reject His own.

22 The Lord said to Moses, 23 ‘Tell Aaron and his sons, “This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:

24 ‘“‘The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face towards you
and give you peace.’”
27 ‘So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.’ Numbers 6

God wants to bless His people.

God does and will bless those who are His. Numbers 23

God does and WILL BLESS those who are His – believe it!

Could any situation have been more opposed to God’s people than the summoning of the prophet/sorcerer Balaam to curse Israel by the Moabite king? Balaam would  have died on the way, if his faithful donkey hadn’t saved him. The Angel of the Lord had stood before him with drawn sword, because his path was a reckless one. There are certain things that God will not allow the enemy to hinder though he may try. Israel may not have even known that their enemy was trying to have them cursed, no record they did, but God rescued them. Not only did God protect His people (and He still protects them to this day) but He blessed them four times, four oracles/speeches of Balaam.

We saw that Balaam continually sought God BEFORE he would commit to going with the Moabite princes. How much better for God’s own people to seek Him and ask for His Guidance and Favour on our lives. I once heard a talk by a well known Faith preacher, in which he constantly repeated God’s desire to bless His children;

11 If you, then, ‘THOUGH YOU ARE EVIL’, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO YOUR CHILDREN, ‘HOW MUCH MORE’ will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7

God caused Balaam to Bless and not curse His people;

8 How can I curse
those whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce
those whom the Lord has not denounced?

10 Who can count the dust of Jacob
or number even a fourth of Israel?
Let me die the death of the righteous,
and may my final end be like theirs!’ Numbers 23

Balaam didn’t get his wish for a Righteous End, he fell by the sword of Israel when they took vengeance on the Midianites. Numbers 31:8

Balaam’s second oracle contains a powerful truth about God Himself (someone said Nuggets from Numbers);

19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
not a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfil? Numbers 23

God cannot lie, His Word stands no matter what, count upon Him to make it good in your life.

20 I have received a command to bless;
HE HAS BLESSED, AND I CANNOT CHANGE IT.
21 ‘NO MISFORTUNE IS SEEN IN JACOB,
NO MISERY OBSERVED IN ISRAEL. (Lovely verses to claim)
THE LORD THEIR GOD IS WITH THEM;
THE SHOUT OF THE KING IS AMONG THEM.
22 God brought them out of Egypt;
they have the strength of a wild ox.
23 There is no divination against Jacob,
no evil omens against Israel.
It will now be said of Jacob
and of Israel, “See what God has done!” NUMBERS 23

Someday all Heaven will declare this about God’s people!

God bless and keep you today and every day.
