“I AM NOT A DRIVE-THROUGH GOD”
A Recent and a Rhema word of God, a word of Correction, (Corrective – means to counteract something undesirable or harmful) which I’m still pondering at this time . God always disciplines us for our own good.
Drive-through, definition, – a place where you can get some type of service by driving through it, without need to get out of your car. (In this context I would say it’s a place where we can get WHAT WE WANT WITH THE LEAST INCONVENIENCE TO OURSELVES)
From my own point of view I’m wondering if too much of what passes for prayer at the present time is our coming to God with a list of requests, expressing our wants or needs. This may resemble placing our orders at the Drive-through and then going OUR OWN WAY once we’ve told God what we want. I believe God is saying that this falls far short of what HE WANTS AND REQUIRES OF US.
10 He says, ‘BE STILL, AND KNOW that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.’
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46
God knows who He is but often times, we His people don’t. I’m not sure if it was A W Tozer who originally said, ‘What we think about God is the most important thing in our lives’. Graham Cooke, also uses this saying and in relation to the scripture above he says, ‘there is no knowing God without stillness’.
God is Relational, He created mankind so that He could fill heaven with people to whom He can relate through eternity. (NOT DRIVE-THROUGH, BUT ETERNITY THROUGH). All we’re involved in at the present time is preparing for that everlasting relationship.
May the Lord bless and keep you today. Immanuel, God is with us.
