23 THE LORD MAKES FIRM THE STEPS
OF THE ONE WHO DELIGHTS IN HIM;
24 THOUGH HE MAY STUMBLE, HE WILL NOT FALL,
FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIM with his hand. Psalm 37
We looked yesterday at some verses from Proverbs 4:12, 19, which promised that we could run with/for the Lord and not Stumble. Psalm 37:24 above also promises we will not Fall. While we are living in our bodies here on earth we can make wrong choices which may have consequences. We mentioned David, the man after God’s own heart, who had a moral failure when he saw a beautiful woman bathing from his palace at night. It’s noteworthy that David was alone and unoccupied or ‘at a loose end’. His eyes wandered and focused on something which was unlawful, even for the king.
Two things to remember in life;
Take care of your thoughts when you’re alone and take care of your words when you’re with people. Joseph N Reyes, Facebook
8 The righteous person is rescued from trouble,
and it falls on the wicked instead. Proverbs 11
I’ve said in a previous blog that I received this scripture when someone tried to make a false claim against my car insurance. The Lord knows how to protect His Loved Ones, Hallelujah.
14 For lack of guidance a nation falls,
but victory is won through many advisors. Proverbs 11
Victory/Good outcomes may result from seeking wise counsel through those we know and better still if they know us. Kings and powerful people had advisers and in Bible times they had prophets as well. David heard much from the Lord himself, after all he wrote at least half the Psalms. But Nathan was his prophet and Gad his seer. They sought God for their King and the nation and challenged him when he got it wrong. We also need people who are willing to challenge us, for our own good and those around us. Amen
God bless and keep you today. Immanuel, God is with us.
