11 SO IS MY WORD that goes out from my mouth: IT WILL NOT RETURN TO ME EMPTY, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. Isaiah 55

God declared His thoughts and His ways are different from those of mankind. He sees things from a Heavenly and eternal perspective, whereas we’re usually more focused on the immediate and often trying to avoid circumstances ordained by God.

The chapter concludes with a powerful speech by God Himself;

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God emphasises that His ways are Higher than men’s and Paul reinforces this in his letter to the Corinthians when talking of Christ’s crucifixion.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. 1 Corinthians 1:25

10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
    so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 SO IS MY WORD that goes out from my mouth:
    IT WILL NOT RETURN TO ME EMPTY,
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

God likens His own word to the rain and snow from Heaven, bringing life to the earth, the plants bud and flourish when the rain comes down from heaven. We can speak God’s Word over our own lives today and expect new life to begin to manifest. Truly God’s Word doesn’t return to HIM OR US without effect! I read of a couple in Ministry who were very short of finance and they began to proclaim Deuteronomy 28, the Blessings and Curses chapter. They probably held onto the blessings and rebuked the curses. It took about eighteen months before things really shifted and they just had to keep at it, no other option! Derek Prince and his wife Ruth proclaimed 2 Corinthians 9:8 daily for the needs of the ministry;

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9

Many of the Lord’s people have come through very difficult times recently, a deliberate assault of the enemy, but God has been fighting on our behalf. Isaiah 55 ends with a quaint blessing;

12 You will go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace; (Amen, Yes Lord)
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands. (Nature will be blessed with us)
13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
    and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”

We have lived through difficult times but I believe Heaven’s blessings are coming to the earth now. We have a part to play but God is moving on behalf of His people and ‘for His renown’. Hold on until the blessing manifests, it is coming.

God bless and keep you today.
