Submit to God’s trials and we will love Him more

Daniel 4, Learn this lesson, at times God judges us for His purposes and our own good.

King Nebuchadnezzar suffered a very severe trial as he was brought from the highest to the lowest, kingship to living like an animal of the field. It may be that because he was ruling over God’s people that he had to be taught that God was supreme and must be obeyed in all things(all powerful and loving all He has made). There are always repercussions in dealing with anything belonging to God.

Nebuchadnezzar learned a painful lesson but afterwards he honoured God Most High. The judgement was for a set time, seven years. We may not know the length of time set for our trial, it’s not always revealed, but he would likely have been unaware of the duration of his trial with his state of mind.

V34 At the end of that time, I raised …. my eyes toward heaven(it was the prideful look of his eyes that got him into trouble in the first place) and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High and glorified Him who lives forever.

Derek Prince once asked a question, who will we see in heaven, King Nebuchadnezzar or King Solomon, or both? Sometimes we endure trials for our own good so that we will be spared eternal judgement.

When the trial was over he was restored to his throne AND like Job became even greater than before. Successfully enduring tests and trials can result in greater honour and promotion;

V36b, I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before!

God knew he was now trustworthy and blessed him with even more. God is not stingy, especially to people He can fully trust.

God doesn’t afflict us to harm us, but rather to teach and correct us, so submit to Him today and learn His lessons for your life quickly.

May we have grace in any trials we’re facing today and may they produce eternal fruit in our lives.
